YaBB Documentation - Path to Perl
Before uploading YaBB software to any server .... be sure you have edited YaBB.pl, AdminIndex.pl, Setup.pl in the yabb2 folder for the proper Path to Perl also Admin/ModuleChecker.pl and Sources/SpellChecker.pl if installing Y2.3.x
Generally, the default is correct on most Linux/*nix systems ( On a Linux host, the path is usually #!/usr/bin/perl), but Perl can be installed in different locations. For example on a Windows or WinNT host, your Perl path should probably be set to #!C:/Perl/Bin/Perl.exe. Check with your host or check your server for the proper path and change the file path accordingly in each of the files.

YaBB 1 (Development Ceased) - Upgrading
OK the time has come to upgrade. I've been very happy with my YABB 1.3.1 but the spammers are starting to win. Can I upgrade direct to YABB 2.3 and is there a FAQ section?

YaBB 3 (Alpha) - OpenID login option
Sorry I'm sure this must have come up before but I've searched the boards here and Boardmod and done a quick Google and can't find any info.
I've got involved with an ancient YaBB board (version 1.something) that obviously needs to get upgraded to a modern version. The rest of the site accepts OpenID for various functions but obviously ancient versions of YaBB don't. So I'm keen that when the board is upgraded to the latest YaBB it could support the same login scheme to streamline things.
Basically has anyone managed (or even tried) to implement OpenID login for a YaBB board?
Would even be interested to hear if someone's tried implementing OpenID login support and failed just to hear what you tried and which bits did/didn't work.
Many thanks

YaBB 3 (Alpha) - Mhtml Converter
submitted by magnum
Basically a mod that enables you to highlight and copy an entire article from a site (pictures included) and simply paste it into a post and render it exactly the same as what you copied. I saw this on a PHPBB3 board and it just looks really nice and slick, better than just getting general text and if you want to add a picture yu have to copy that picture and add img tags or bold the text like they have. I don't know if this would pose a threat for security or not. Below is a quick link to the result I'm describing. I registered and simply did a message preview by copying and pasting striahgt from an article into the post and it rendered it exact, even an email link http://websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/mattfro/show_single_post?pid=2793601 2&postcount=1

YaBB Converters - What comes after Conversion step 3?
I converted a ubb.classic 6.7.3 to YABB, but I cannot get beyond Step 3:
Conversion step 3 (Messages) completed. Procede to the next step.
When I proceed, I get one of those 500 internal server error.
It seems none of the situations in topic http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?action=search2 apply.
Is there a Step 4? If so, what is it? Is it necessary? Any ideas as to how to get beyond Step 3?
Thank you, edsager
