Corey Chapman, YaBB Project Leader & Owner of XIMinc, has posted a call for help from YaBB users and supporters... YaBB and XIMinc Need Help!. Here is the reprint of Corey's post: YaBB is a free, open-source project. This means the various domain registrations and website hosting are donated. Unfortunately, during these poor economic times, the "bills" have not been getting paid for several months.
But you can help! All it will take is several people to host their websites and/or register their domains with YaBB's sponsor, XIMinc. We've made this easy by offering 8 hosting plans from only $4.95 per month to $40.95 per month for corporations. See http://ximinc.com/.
You can also advertise your website on YaBB's site or forum. This ranges from only $400 per year to $800 per year. With the 40,000,000+ hits and 75,000+ unique visitors the site receives each month, you're sure to see a return on that small investment. See http://www.yabbforum.com/advertise.php.
At even less cost, you can simply purchase a copyright removal license for your YaBB forum. This will allow you to rename the YaBB executable and remove the copyright text to YaBB at the bottom of your forum for true site "branding." This is just a ONE-TIME fee of only $150. See http://www.yabbforum.com/licenses.php.
If you just want to be a nice person or don't have as much to pitch in, you can say "thanks" to the development team by helping keep YaBB free. Simply stop by http://www.yabbforum.com/donate.php to donate as little as $5 or as much as $150.
Not many web software projects have as much to offer as YaBB's team provides you with - and not many are free. Let's keep it that way! With all the great benefits and support offered to YaBB users for free, give back to the community when and as you can. And remember... YaBB on! :) |
